Comment Best Practices
Writing Effective Comments
Be Specific:
- Good: "Please change the header background to #3B82F6"
- Bad: "Change the color"
Provide Context:
- Good: "The mobile menu isn't working on iPhone 12. When I tap the hamburger icon, nothing happens."
- Bad: "Menu broken"
Use Screenshots:
- Attach screenshots to show issues
- Annotate images to highlight problems
- Show examples of what you want
Be Constructive:
- Good: "The layout looks great! Can we increase the font size to 18px for better readability?"
- Bad: "Font is too small"
Requesting Revisions
Clear Revision Instructions:
- List each change separately
- Use numbered lists for multiple changes
- Be specific about what needs to change
- Explain why if helpful
Example Revision Comment:
Thanks for the initial design! Here are a few revisions:
- Change header background from blue to #3B82F6
- Increase body font size from 16px to 18px
- Add 20px padding around the hero section
- Replace placeholder image with attached logo.png
Everything else looks perfect!
Providing Feedback
Positive Feedback:
- Acknowledge good work
- Be specific about what you like
- Encourages team and builds rapport
Constructive Feedback:
- Focus on the work, not the person
- Explain the issue clearly
- Suggest solutions if possible
- Be respectful and professional
Asking Questions
Good Questions:
- "Is it possible to add a contact form to this page?"
- "What's the best way to handle mobile navigation for this design?"
