- Complex revisions (functionality changes, major redesigns): 48-72 hours
When a Revision Becomes a New Request
A revision becomes a new request when you're asking for something beyond the original scope:
Revision (included):
- "Change the button color" (original request was to create a button)
- "Adjust the spacing" (original request was to design a section)
- "Fix the mobile view" (original request was to create a responsive page)
New Request (separate):
- "Add a contact form" (original request was to create a landing page without a form)
- "Create a new page" (original request was to update an existing page)
- "Add e-commerce functionality" (original request was a simple website)
Rule of Thumb: If it's a change to what we delivered, it's a revision. If it's adding something new that wasn't in the original request, it's a new request.
Best Practices for Revision Requests
Be Specific:
- ❌ Bad: "Make it look better"
- ✅ Good: "Increase the headline font size to 48px and change the color to #333333"
Provide Examples:
- Attach screenshots or links showing what you want
- Use annotations to highlight specific areas
- Share reference websites for inspiration
Group Related Changes:
- ❌ Bad: Submit 5 separate revision requests for 5 small changes
- ✅ Good: Submit 1 revision request listing all 5 changes
Test Before Approving:
- Check on desktop and mobile
- Test all functionality
- Review in different browsers if applicable
- Verify all requested changes were made
Revision Limits
While revisions are unlimited, we expect reasonable use:
Reasonable:
- Requesting 3-5 rounds of revisions to perfect a design
- Making adjustments based on client feedback
- Fine-tuning colors, spacing, and layout
- Fixing bugs or issues that arise
Unreasonable:
- Requesting 20+ rounds of revisions with no clear direction
- Constantly changing your mind about the design direction
- Using revisions to add new features not in the original request
- Requesting revisions on work that was already approved
Common Questions
Q: Are revisions really unlimited?
A: Yes! Request as many revisions as needed until you're satisfied.
Q: Do revisions count against my request queue?
A: No, revisions don't take up a request slot. They're handled separately.
Q: How long do revisions take?
A: Most revisions are completed in 24-48 hours, depending on complexity.
Q: Can I request revisions after marking a request complete?
A: Yes, but it's better to request all revisions before marking complete. After completion, major changes may be treated as a new request.
Q: What if I'm not satisfied after multiple revisions?
A: Contact your project manager. We'll work with you to understand your vision and deliver what you need.
